Clamping Rights

Motorists who claim to have been unfairly clamped on private land are to be given the right to appeal to independent tribunals for compensation. In measures that will be put in to a proposal in a new crime and secruity bill to include compulsory licensing that will come in to effect in 2011.

As motorists can often find themselves being held to ransom and having to pay the clampers to get their car back, Which? Legal Service would welcome a scheme that limits the amounts that can be charged and will give motorists an independent line of appeal.
