Flight Rights in the Snow
Following major disruption to many of the transport networks recently, Espe Fuentes, lawyer at Which? Legal Service offers the following advice to anyone due to travel from any of the UK’s airports.
"If you are unfortunate enough to have had your flight
delayed or cancelled because of the
bad weather you are covered by EU regluations. If
your flight has been delayed you are entitled to
assistance in the way of meals and refreshments, 2 phone calls and
overnight accomodation of applicable. If your flight is
cancelled the EU regulations require an airline to offer
you either a full refund or an alternative flight to your
destination as soon as one is avaliable. As well as this you are
entitled to refreshments and meals the amount of this depends on
the delay and how long you are at the airport."
We have received many calls from people who are stuck at the
airports and not knowing their rights, call Which? Legal
Service and we can advise what you are entitled to.
