Advice for passengers grounded by airline collapse
Following the collapse of Scotland’s largest tour operator, Flyglobespan, Espe Fuentes offers the following advice.
Globespan Group PLC involves the failure of a Tour operator Globespan and the airline Flyglobespan. Unfortunately your rights may vary according to who you booked with.
If you have booked a package holiday directly with Globespan you may be protected if you have paid some or all of your holiday by credit card, this is provided that the holiday cost more than £100. If you paid by your visa debit card you may also be covered under the chargeback scheme.
If you have booked flights only directly with Flyglobspan you are not protected by the Atol and may only be able to recover the money paid if it was paid directly to Flyglobespan and with a credit card or visa debit card. If you have booked via a travel agent you will need to contact the travel agent and make a claim through them.
